Coordinated Universal Time

Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) is generally equivalent to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). The main difference is that UTC has a more precise scientific definition than GMT. For the purposes of knowing when a document was signed by someone using the Virtual Cabinet® Portal, UTC and GMT can be considered to be equivalent.

When you wish to determine the date and time that a document was signed in your local time, you will need to add or subtract the UTC time offset for your location, which can be found on many websites, such as Wikipedia.

If you would like to read a more detailed discussion of UTC, please consult Wikipedia.
